Outdoor units and storm season
Do not wrap the condenser in a tarp and leave it. Plastic holds moisture and the first sunny day cooks the inside. If a named storm is coming, a fitted cover for the duration is fine. Take it off when the wind drops.
Clear the three-foot ring around the unit. Lawn chairs, screens, and decorative rocks become missiles. Trim the bushes so the coil can breathe. After the storm, look for a unit that leaned or a whip that pulled loose before you flip the breaker back on.
If the house took on water, call before you run the air handler. Wet insulation in the closet is a different job than a yard full of leaves.
We book extra slots after a blow-through. Text photos if you can. It saves a wasted drive when the only problem is a branch on the fan guard.
