A soft answer after a long day
Proverbs 15 is not a personality test. It is a warning for the hour you walk in the door tired.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
The hardest sentence of the day is often the first one you say after you put the keys down. Proverbs 15 is aimed at that hour.
A soft answer is not pretending you are not tired. It is refusing to make the people in the house pay for the road.
